2nd pic is where i was pickin high fliers after a storm and had a school of 20 COWS erupt next to me.

but you said i was a heathen about wanting to tackle them
you would have done the same. :laughs:

We pulled up to a SPOT yesterday and had a 1000 cows surfing on top when I stopped the boat...looked down in 12' of water and saw nothing but momma bassalos on the bottom.....oh for a heavy jig tied on at that exact moment....water was flat calm with no indication there was fish there....then next second BANG

That was the SECOND time this year I've seen this behaviour....BIG bass on top surfing and porpoising with their mouths wide open....ya'd have thought they were whales feeding the way they looked....way cool! Even better when we had triple hookups :D

likwid 07-08-2004 12:27 PM

i've seen em finning WAY up in the creeks by the bridges chasing sand eels all over the place.

UserRemoved1 07-08-2004 12:33 PM

AHHH ya got SCUPPERED SPOTS now :D

These guys weren't finning they looked like DOLPHINS with their mouths wide open....

likwid 07-08-2004 12:37 PM

weird!

sand eels?

UserRemoved1 07-08-2004 12:45 PM

no not that I saw, look like maybe krill or something really small like that. Did't see baitballs at all, but 2 weeks ago that spot was loaded so go figure....

We had bluefish pukin up what looked like baby pogies yesterday south of Pasque also, didn't get a good enough look at them to id, but about 2" tall and 5-6" long.... might have been immature herring too?

likwid 07-08-2004 12:47 PM

that'd explain why the little storms are killin the rats

UserRemoved1 07-08-2004 12:52 PM

yep I said the same thing yesterday when I seen the color and the profile....bunker colors and large size :)

likwid 07-08-2004 12:52 PM

My spider senses were tingling in the storm section of walmart over those about a month ago. :D

likwid 07-08-2004 10:45 PM

i didn't tripp
but i found the spot.

it had stripes :D

UserRemoved1 07-09-2004 05:58 AM

how long were the stripes?

likwid 07-10-2004 04:52 AM

keepah... sent back to get bigger

went out last night with macy and bjs
bjs got a 38"
macy got a schoolie and a big blue
i got a bjs :smash:

like i said the hole and hunk love me
everywhere else hates me

Raven 07-10-2004 05:29 AM

hey salty

from your description i believe the bass were calling the mothership to return.... and if you regularly witness nature phenomenon like that... you should have a good digital camera onboard to capture the moment.
