Fluke in the Ditch.
In both the Fisherman and OTW there were articles bout fluke in the canal. Ive been fishing it for a few years now and yet to hook up with one. Has anyone had luck with em there? I got bass, blues, sea bass, scup, macks, herring and pollack there but never a fluke or even seen one caught for that matter, just wondering hww many of yall have hooked up.

Ive caught little ones using sand eels and small chunks on the east end... but that was a few years ago.. nothing recent..
I saw some guys using chubs as well. |
the west end holds doormat fluke use sandeels or mummys on a fluke rig with a 4oz bank sinker

I don't fish for Fluke but have seen people who are targeting them catch one after the other many times in the springtime at the Ditch. I assume they are there the whole season.
Find some slower water areas , fish some squid strips. |
Rob:Try tipping a 2 ounce jig w/ spearing or squid strips, dragging it very slowly along the bottom. That's been effective for me in the past, regulary producing 5# fluke in July.

I caught them on the west end drifting mackeral chunks before.

I've caught them in the canal, fluke, winter flounder, black sea bass, striper... all on the same day
