flying fish

I saw a flying fish out on the sow and pigs reef this weekend. We spooked it with the boat and it cleared the water for about 10 yards. This is the first one I have ever seen in shore. Water temp was about 63 degrees. Depth was less then ten feet. Pretty weird huh?

Do you think seeing them inshore might indicate that there's a warm bubble on the way up? That it might be tuna time? Or maybe the little fella was just really lost...

I saw one shoot out of the water about 2 weeks ago somewhere on Ocean Drive. Within 5 feet of shore. It wasn't a boat that scared it... :)
