try heading down to the fish pier over in boston..
you may be able to find anyfish you need.. maybe even clams .. |
or chinatown, but dont buy the fish there. butterfish, croaker, scups, crabs, clams, mussels, and squids are fresh. go to sun sun market...
good point notaro..
i forgot about chinatown.. i was freaked out by some of the things they had for sale there.. i go there for my hot sauce.. sriracha ooooh baby.. |
chilli hot sauce? what are you gonna use it for, man?
where in chinatown is the sun sun market?
not sure.. i just wander in and out of all the shops till i find what i am looking for.. i start on kneeland street and wander in and out .. notaro might have a better address for you..
chinatown is great for cooking gear too.. never mind cold tea at 2am.. (sHHHHHHHHHHHH.. dont tell anyone about the tea) |
:hee:
how much do u usually spend on bait in chinatown:confused
not a lot. well, hard to say because i know the owner...sometimes i get free or discount...
where do u go? sun sun as well?
yes, my uncle wilson owns there....u can try viet supermarket, 88 supermarket in any boston area.
can u provide me with an adress to sun sun plz? :)
Oxford Pl., Boston, MA in chinatown. it isnt hard to find.
thx notaro ah one more thing... how do they sell the bait is it like by the tote or different system
try super 88 supermarket.its located right off the south east expressway...93 south,,near dorchester,,,go to the southbay mall.(toys r' us & homedepot, stop n shop can be seen from the highway),,,88 supermarket is right next to stop n shop.parking is plenty and open till 11pm,maybe 12 on weekends ,,there is also a 88 upermarket in brighton,,next to bu on commonwealth ave/brighton ave merge....you can get frozen clams and frozen sand eels, that can be used as a trailer on a bucktail or spoon.. plus all the fresh seafood they have.,.their seafood tend to be fresher the stop n shop, because they sell so out on most if not all of the fish by the end of the day,,,the seafood section is the most busiest section of the supermarket, every one is there for the variety of fish they got,, just point to the fish you want and tell him how many,,,,woot wooot,,good luck....ps. check out the candy section for snacks.
KL, sandeels? nobody eat sand eels, man...
Surfcastinglife, you just buy them like you want to purchase seafood, get it? they will sell you by how many pound in price... |
ah ic kool they sell macks? no herring i assume ;P
macks, scups, butterfish, black sea bass, variety of crabs, Long squids (best for fluking).
anyone know any other places? i go to this place in gloucester taht sells it by the tote at like 5-10 bucks and i was looking for a place like that a little closer to home
there is a store near the pier (i dont want to sound specic)...i think that you can get it from them.

nope ;P some of the best deals ive ever gotten on herring =D i dont care if its more expensive if they sell it by the bucket or w/e i just looknig for closer to home
notaro: even places to buy bait we're not allowed to discuss? like specific location i mean? i guess if its "near" the pier i could find it ;P |

perhaps u missunderstood my use of the word tote. i have this cooler its about 5-8 gallon capacity and they fill that up for 5-10 bucks (depends on who it is) at this place rite off 128 in gloucester basically i get enough herring to fish for a week
u can buy in tote, but they can't five you a tote.. if u have one, fill them up at the supermarket.
in ur opinion notaro how much would they charge me to fill that cooler i just described? bout 20 bucks?
maybe or a little more. i have no ideas.
