Squished bugs

Or buggers

I get a lift of squares in today, waybill said 740 lbs...unload it off the truck no prob on the pallet jack....sign the waybill, seeya have a nice day

Top of loading dock is about 5' higher than shop floor...has about a 50' steel ramp to floor level....yea let's see how hard it feels to move...suuuuure no problem feels fine, should be no big deal...first 10' of ramp yea I got it fiiiiiine...I'm below the pallet jack using my weight to slow it down......then 1/2 way down the ramp it wants to start moving a little faster by itself......rut ro.....I can't stop it no more...rut rooooooo....look back quick and there's only about 20' of ramp left and then 20' of floor before I hit the wall....el squisheroony....whew it keeps going and I'm finally able to stop it just before the wall...lucky...

Sometimes I'm a doofus, I should have just let it drag down the stupid ramp......

yea I know NG, but landlord no wanna pay...wait til someone gets bit... them suckers is 3" across EASY and wicked nasty lookin.

MAC 07-20-2004 08:19 PM

3" sounds like a wolf spider. A brown recluse is only like 1/2". Oh and so ya know the wolf spiders do bite but at least they ain't venemous. A recluse has a marking on its back that looks like a violin. Thus also called fiddleback spiders. I hate spiders:spidey:

UserRemoved1 07-20-2004 08:29 PM

nope definitely both were brown recluse....not wolf's...nasty lookin suckers.....we didn't even know they lived up here til we researched it on the web and found pics of them...they match perfectly.....

UserRemoved1 07-21-2004 06:31 PM

last one got a nice cold bath in acetone

new jack 07-22-2004 09:04 PM

brown recluse spiders....cool. look at the violin shape on their thorax.

WATCH OUT.....they are bad news if you get bitten by one. we are talking necrotzing fascitis here folks. aka flesh eating disease.

I'd post a few pics but they are a little to greusome for the board.

SALTY.......have you had this problem before?

Notaro 07-22-2004 09:05 PM

are you serious, new jack?
i think i have one in my home... bleep, bleep, i hate spiders!!!

new jack 07-22-2004 09:08 PM

unfortuantly i am serious. They are found up here, but I think it is rare.

Salty do you get your lumber from somewhere in the south along the east coast?

Notaro 07-22-2004 09:12 PM

chief10 07-23-2004 10:23 AM

guy I know got bit last summer in plymouth. had to have emergency surgery on his thigh. It started off as a small cut then got worse. Once it gets to the bone you've got trouble.

Surfcastinglife 08-10-2004 12:12 PM

friend got bitten by one last year it started off like u could barely see it but it started growing and peeling and when all was said and done he had about a 9 inch diameter of dead flesh on his arm was the uglies thing i'd ever seen

spence 08-10-2004 12:31 PM

Do a google image search on brown recluse and there are a lot of pics of the bites :yak:

I don't think they get 3 inches though...
