Red Gill fish

I have been fishing red gill teasers every night since may, but in the last 2 weeks I have strictly cought fish on the teaser. Earlier in the season it would be about half on the red gill, half on the plug. Now it seems no matter what plug I'm fishing the fish will only hit the red gill. Anybody got any reasons for this? Am I do something wrong here!

I'm no teaser expert but I'd say you're doing something right

Yeah Im not really complaing other than the fact that in the past two weeks my fish per night numbers are way down, especially size.
Sand eels could be the explanation, but I haven't seen them in big numbers at my spots.

can you be more specific ?

Hi
Can I know what size and color are your Red Gills ?
And what length of mono between the plug and the teaser ?

I do it in France, successfully, with a fly (Mickey Finn pattern on #4 hook, 20 inches above the plug)

Thanks,
Olivier

I only fish with the all black red gill. THey are 4 1/2 inches long. I fish them with about an 8-10in leader and the plug with a 24-30in leader.
