Color and Wader
Is color a factor for purchasing a wader for a fishing pursuit? My proline green breathable wader has a hole and it has been leaking water into it. I lost the extra kits and I don't know how to repair it. So I am looking for whichever is important to buy the right kind of wader. Should I purchase the ugly wild goose hunting camo wader or a plain one that is reasonably priced up to 100 bucks or less from any store?
Any imput would be apperticiated. |
Camo with a plunging neckline.:D

I don't think camoflage waders help you catch more fish, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so. I like cheap, but functional equipment. If I was to buy waders and could get a good pair of "plain" ones for $100 less than camoflage ones, I think I'd buy the plain ones, but then, I might scare the fish away.
|
i will stick to the regular color. thanks, guys.
|
if the hole isn't too big, why not post or do a search on the best way to fix your waders? this saves you some loot to buy more plugs with.
|
i dont have the kits. alright, ill try that.
|
Most wader repairs are temporary, (meaning they will more than likely LEAK again :(). Buy yourself a second pair.........THEN try fixing the old pair ;)...if it works great, if it don't..... you have new pair.
...as for the color :hs:....n-a-a-a-a-h. It's only important if you care what you look like to other anglers. :smash: Which you should NEVER worry about at all. Think about it, if you buy the camo's...you can go hunting too!!! |
ill buy it, bloocrab. but i hate when the sports authority run out of the regular hodegmen wader and have hunting waders available. ill try that.

If the patch kit doesn't work, just cut them off and use them as boots/hip waders.

no aquaseal is a sealer to repair waders with.

does any sponsor sell here?
|
Warning ! Jake is a cheap bastid!!
My quick and dirty leak repair that looks like hell is a gob of RTV Silicone massaged into the leaky spot. If ya going to the prom, gob it on the inside of your waders. I warned ya. |
Notaro. You will find Aquaseal at any dive shop. It is normally used for wetsuit/neoprene repair. It's the stuff
I recommend shiite brown for waders. That way when you catch your 60 lber and crap your pants the stains will blend in....... |
Kittery trading post has nice lightweight green Hodgeman waders for 50 bucks. I bought a pair there saturday for my son.
|
Notaro like these guys said, use Hoisin sauce.

Use Aquaseal to repair them... it works on holes or tears. Lasts a long time.
|
o.k. heres a more serious answer.. fold your waders inside out and clean the hole with some rubbing alcohol.. then squeeze a big blob of aquaseal on the hole. go grab some wax paper and smoosh it flat and carefully put your waders in a car with the windows rolled up for 1 hour...after an hour, peel off the wax paper and you should be ready to go fishing.
|
FISH NAKED. :hihi:
Seriously...what Eben said. You should always have some aquaseal and some spare wader material. |
and if you cant find Hoisin sauce, black bean paste will do.
|
We've got Aquaseal Joe.
And other repair related stuff. :) |
alright, thanjs. damn, eben, you still crack me up. alright, thats a good advice.
