Question bout merc 30.
 

I dont even want to know the answer but i gotta ask. ITs a 95, i change the lower unit oil every year, its only used on a lake a couple times a week and i dont run it all that much either. I was cruising full throttle today and after a couple minutes the engine raced real hard and the prop stopped spinning. it was like a tranny slipping on a truck. i motored back home pretty slow and every time i got to bout half throttle it would slip again. Any ideas as to what the problem is? The real pisser is i got laid off a couple weeks ago and i have a feeling this might be costly one.

lower units don't slip, they go "CRUUUUNCH" and your all done.

Whew, thats good news. I appreciate it. Its an awful slow cruise around the lake with my trolling motor, thanks a lot.
