Tuna on The Fly

Has anyone gone after any Tuna with a fly? Just curious what you might be using. I have an 11wt rod with a ton gel spun backing and a fast sinking line. Any help with patterns would be great.

BONEFISH, where are you fishing out of. bonita, albies, are great on flys, BUT B.F.T.'s I think I much rather use a 12wt,or a 15wt
un- less your comfortable w/ your 11wt lifting 100+lb fish. BUT then againg maby your NOT fishing for that class of TUNA. WHAT type REEL are you using, then the BIG BOYS hit, they hit HARD an 100yds are gone in 30sec.:D
GOOD LUCK GOOD FISHIN:happy:

:) Take it for what it is worth!!!!!:D the average fly fisherman is not going to catch a giant blue fin tuna on a fly rod!!!!!

Yes you can have fun with the footballs!!! forget about catching that 1000lb. fish!!!

And you can catch the football with a fly!!!

My sugestion is to hire a guidethat does that type of fishing

Pay attension to what they use and go on your own!!!

these are the guys!!!! www.firstlightanglers.com

:) Did ya catch that on a fly while on vacation??? What country was that in???

Out of PT. Judith in Sept, is that a yellow fin tuna trip???

Only my opinion!!! The best place to be for "Giants" now would be up in P.E.I. in Canada!!!! :D

The 2nd place would be down the Carolliana's in January when they will be close to shore, generally just a couple miles off shore!!!!

I hope ya get that big one!!!!  ;)

FLYROD,check the phone behind Roberto-------> telmex (hint)
SEPT---.NEW ENGLAND ABT's to 55lbs & YFT's to 72lbs early season,YELLOW an BLUEFINS from 32-95 lbs super FLY action. draggers working SE/S/SW of BLOCKISLAND should concentrate good numbers of TUNA within easy reach. we will be out there in SEPT doing some chumming, an hoping to raise some good size fish.
GOOD LUCK GOOD FISHIN:happy:
P.S.
I bet there are GIANTS out at the CANYONS
