Oysters around the buzzards bay and bourne

i am going to do some clamming with my family this weekend, but i want to clam for oysters (raw oyster delights). im not sure if they are around or if its worth for me to hunt them. i never have caught any oyster. is it same as picking up clams or do i need to find a different grounding spot? quahogs like structures with sandy bottom (bklck sands). and i want to know that the oysters season has been producing or not

oysters

Check the local regulations . Most towns only allow oystering in the fall and winter Mattapoisett is 0ct 1 to march 31. And make sure you get a permit from the town your going to dig in,they love to ticket out of towners in the summer.

Oysters in months that have an "r" in them. August does not have an "r".

Yeah I am pretty sure you can't take oysters until September. Always see them in Buttermilk near the rocks where I dig quahogs though.
