:p

BigFish 08-12-2004 02:39 PM

I am thinking an Abu 6500 is worlds different than that antique!:uhuh:

Pretty sweet looking collectible Christian, where did you get it? It looks to be brass?

I don't think it is worth anything in my professional opinion:smash: I think you should send it to me immediately for further analysis!;)

Christian 08-12-2004 02:44 PM

my dad found it in an old barn his grandmother had, its just been sitting on a shelf in my room.

maybe i can ebay it and turn it into a van stall:confused:  :D

Slingah 08-12-2004 02:47 PM

keep it

BigFish 08-12-2004 02:48 PM

I agree with Slingah....keep it!;)

google j conroy reel, theres some information there. I found this

A J. Conroy brass ball handle reel in VG sold for $405.

not to bad.

partsjay 08-12-2004 03:25 PM

I'd keep it as well.....string that mother up and see what she's got left in her......maybe bring you good ol' luck or something.

later LINK SR.I think Paul Revere used that reel?:D :D

Backbeach Jake 08-12-2004 04:54 PM

Now you need an antique rod.:D And some linen line.

MAC 08-12-2004 06:30 PM

If that is a Ball Handle 3 made by Thomas J Conroy (New York) it could have a value in the 3-400 range. This came out the 6th edition Old Fishing Lures and Tackle by Carl F. Luckey

MAC 08-12-2004 07:30 PM

Did a little more digging and found out that it was probably made in or around 1840. 160 something years old.... could be worth more than listed above

rocketman 08-12-2004 08:02 PM

Keep it.:smash:

Roseneath 08-12-2004 09:39 PM

I'll trade you a pack of slug-gos amd a bag of sour-patch-kids.

Let me know, if I'm the winning bid

chris L 08-13-2004 07:56 AM

Ill give you all of my habs plugs ( poppers and needles ) for that reel
