oil spill

Yesterday while bottom fishing I had the radio on...the CG had an announcement that there was a report of an oil slick, 2 miles long and 2-3 feet THICK, approx 65 miles S of RI.

Anyone else hear about this?

JohnR 08-19-2004 12:13 PM

Sucks bigtime...

Man, I hope it's not crude - we had a spill here after a collision off Brenton Reef and you can still see the oil on the rocks all over the southern end of the Island -

And that was 40 years ago :hs:.......

Hmmmm...lessee...the tanker was the PW Thirtle if memory serves...:smokin:

Hopefully its cleaned up quickly. Any additional info on what type of oil?
