Round Rasp Bit?

Making some poppers with a cupped mouth and I am looking for a round rasp bit 1 inch in diameter??? Is there any such animal??? Have tried Beaver Woodworking, Home Depot, my Woodcraft catalogue.......the only size I found was approximately 1/2 inch and it is a real labor to get the exact "cup" that I am looking for (not to mention a little dangerous if I am not careful!

PS-I did the search thing already.;)

one of those flat ended (spade bit) drill bits. Round the edges with a belt sander ;) drill your cup....

remember there is no spoon....Big fish there is no spoon....:D

Having never made a plug I don't know if this would work or not but at times shoeing horse's can be like wood work. I would look at the attachment that they make for dremil tools. They make some round bits of varying sizes that you should be able to fit into your drill press.

I have a one inch round titanium whisker rasp that I got at the Woodworkers Club. Works great for cupping poppers. I use it in my drill press. When the whiskers fill up with dust, I brush it out with a wire brush (but I'm told that you can burn it out with a match).

How do I find this Woodworkers Club?:D

try a search on this site under RASP

6 searches will come up,
try the 4th search down under "popper mouth woes"
turn to page 3 and look under Chris H post.
I bought that rasp and works good.
Good luck and careful on the drill press when using!

Did all that SurfandTurf.....came up with little that I did not already know....but I used the smaller rasp I had, took my time and the cups came out perfect....you should see them!;)

BF did you look at MSA corp.? they make machine shop tooling i.e. milling bits and fixtures. I know they have a warehouse in woburn. Also McMaster-car (I think thats how you spell it) they are another good tooling house:D
Good luck
