Does Anyone Really Give A Crap About The Olympics?
 

Just a general question so don't start slingin' insults my way that "I am not Patriotic" or "You should take pride in our Olympic teams". My question is simply.....does anyone really care? There has been no chatter whatsoever here on the site and it was just making me curious about whether or not anyone really cares?:confused:

My own opinion is simply this....that the Olympics lost me when they started letting the "professional" athletes compete! I believe that was the wrong way to go! :huh:

The Olympics - Yes
The Olympic Men's Basketball Team - NO

The Womens softball team is a good story to follow. They are just destroying the competition. They're 7-0, haven't given up a run yet and 4 out of the 7 games were called early because of the mercy rule......... and Jenny Finch is just Smokin :D

Women gymnasts were great.....and the mens swim team was awesome. That Michael Phelps is great!:D

The womans Gymanstics actually had grabbed my daughters attention. She was really enjoying watching it. Its nice to see some positive sports models for the kids......That aren't going to have attitudes, Contract Disputes, Or go somewhere else after my kids start to like them.

I have turned it on 2 times now only to turn i right back off. Synchronized diving and kayaking a sport, give me a break. Next time they will have marbles in it. Just my opinion sorry if I offended any synchronized divers who may frequent the site.

Now there is the best reason of all for watching these athletes and the best reason for keeping the spoiled, overpaid cry-babys out of the Olympics! The Olympics should be for amatuers only. They are great for the kids to watch....great reply TDF!:btu:

I also agree with that KL...syncronized swimming has to be the biggest joke on the planet!!!:smash:

i disagree to an extent with the sunchronized diving/swimming responses. they are great art forms but they dont belong in the olympics. i have great admiration for those who do it but im sry it just doesnt belong in the olympics..........u know what else is an olympic sport? ballroom dancing

No man it was diving. Swimming is bad enough but diving. The funny part was the pair I watched had about a 4 inch difference in height , one was blond and the other was a red head. go figure:smash:

yea ive seen the diving its "cute" but cute isnt what i want in the olympics :) we should petition to have plug building on there =D

You mean to tell me if you were told by someone that they "medaled" in the Olympics and you asked them "In what?" and they replied.......:eek: "syncronized swimming", that you would not bust out laughing?:laugha: I would!:huh:

bf was ur post directed towards me? :P if so then re-read my post :) i said the "sport" doesnt belong in the olympics but that it is indeed an art form to be respected because it is after all incredibly difficult to pull off it just shouldnt have its place in the olympics
