a.k.a. Striper Bling :D
http://surfcasting-rhodeisland.com/S...ntJudeLogo.jpg Point Jude Lures are back.... http://surfcasting-rhodeisland.com/S...e_products.jpg Point Jude Lures I know Uncle Crafty likes them, so they must be good... |
Not to hi-jack my own thread - but I also have the back ordered Bernzy's in, and they will go out mon/tues.
So if you have a backorder pending and you want to tag on a Point Jude tin, call me and I'll include with the backorder delivery so you will save a shipping charge. |
made all the difference in the world for me this past weekend, lots of nice fish on those lures:happy:

You guys probably already know Mrs Crafty did the graphics for Pt. Jude Joe, but I wouldn't shill the product if I hadn't used it and had it produce for me.
Yeah, I do like 'em, most of those tins probably haven't been seen in maybe 30 years or so (but I could be corrected on that, I guess) - Pt. Jude's been around since the '40's, I know, but I'm not sure what the original release date for these designs was. A lot of guys only knew them for the mackeral jigs. All that having been said, they work. Apparently, fish like retro, it seems... Gotta do some more 'Field testing' to determine my favorite but it may be a draw. The Sea Scallop has been producing the most for me lately, but the Butterfish has a real nice action on just a steady retrieve. My big objection to all the other butterfish tins has been a deep keel which makes them track straight. Pt. Jude's butterfish has a shallow keel and just side-slips and wobbles and flutters on the pause. The Po-Gee is gonna have a place at...uhhh...a Special Place ;) Point Judes are an old Rhody Classic - but then, so is Pt. Jude Joe himself :hihi: Seriously, he's a helluva nice guy if you haven't met him yet and me and Mrs Crafty wish him all the luck in the world. I think he's gonna do real well with the line once word gets out. |
Ya his tins are great!! Ive been doing well with the large sand eel and the butter fish. Got a nice 16lb on the first cast with the butterfish last night!!!

Nice Tins Joe!
And great job on the packaging design Mrs Crafty! :claps: |
I mean Baby Pogeys......................
|
I have two of the original 3/8 oz poppers //I caught a 20# from [[[[[[[[[S H O R E }}}}}}} on one //////;)
|
:btu:
I was down at the shop with Joe this AM for coffee and Dominic (who's a real sharp local charter skipper) had the same observations about the way the Baby Pogie swims - real erratic, like a stunned (although stunned wasn't the word) little pogie. We're figuring one of us is gonna hang a large off it - Ya know, I was just thinkin' - maybe Pt. Jude Joe oughta call it the "Pt. Jude P-Nut"....:smokin:....yeah, that's the ticket..... Okay, Joe M. - my product development and marketing fee is pretty reasonable - It's only gonna cost ya P-Nuts :hihi: |
Anyone land any cows on one yet? Im gonna try em again soon as i get outta the work piece.
|
Oh man I gotta drive down there and pick some up this weekend :D :D Whats the heaviest he's got on those Crafty? The butterfish and the ones that look like a pimped out hopkins?
|
Butterfish is 1.5, sandeel 1.5, 2.5, and the scallop is 2.5
|
My mistake :smash: the Sea Scallop is 2oz not 2.5oz
SRI Point Jude Page |
Where,s the shop ??????????????
oh,, I already ordered :smash: |
are these made of real "tin", as the old school tins were?
|
They are made from a lead/tin/antimony mix.
|
hey joe!
|
What Joe said - it's a chromed alloy.
The finish is pretty tough - me, Habs, Tattoo and the Iron Sheik have alternately taken turns beating the bejesus outta them on the rocks catching fish with no noticeable effect to the chrome in pre-release testing. Take a lickin' and keeps on stickin'....:hihi: |
I sent some free ones out this week with orders that I shipped.....
