:crying: I'll say!!! $187.68 for them with shipping cost,
But there worth every penny!!! On the up side, I had some Awesome wolfish and Chinese food for dinner tonight;) |
Some manufacturers like Hobie will repair them for a small flat fee. I got new a whole new hobie sunglass frame for 25.00 including return shipping.

They are supose to be replaced at any breakage no questions asked just send them the old ones.

I convinced my wife to pic up a pair when we were in RI. No one discounts them so they cost what they cost. She ended up with a nice pair of green mirrored backwater style lenses.
She tried them outside for a while comes back in while I am bs'ingw/ the owner of the store and decides to get them. We get home and I am looking through them and see a spot. It turns out there is a small pin hole in the lens so I call back the store and he tells me to send them back to OC for a new pair. He didn't have any in stock and wasn't expecting any since he already ordered his supply for the year. I doubt I would ever buy from this guy again. I'm an honest guy and he pawns me off to OC. To make a LONG story short - I sent them back TWICE and they ended up repairing them and NOT replacing them. I was sort of PO'ed it took me about two months to clear it up. :( They ended up keeping my case & sleeve but they mailed it back after I called and told them what they looked like. Even after I got them back they weren't perfect ..... my wife wears them and likes them, but all I can say is you best check them out real well in person if you buy them that way. I mailed order my pair a few yrs back online since no one local carried the ones I wanted (I like the ugly side shields....lol). I went w/ the amber polarized lens since I freshwater fish more. I want to get another pair for offshore, but haven't gotten around to it since I don't go out that much in a boat. I had the best luck early in the morning when they first open up. They eventually do call you back when you leave a message. I would say to give them a good month or so to get around to your glasses - send a note and a check for returning them back to yourself. The only other glasses I use that impress me are the AO I got on close out for like $40 - i wear these more than my OC's only because they are wider and don't pinch my temples. You need GLASS for durability and clarity - the extra weight doesn't bother me at all. Always use a lanyard when fishing or you are gonna cry when they fall into the water.....LOL. ;) After the incident w/ my wifes OC's - I am still PO'ed about how long it took and the fact they just didn't send me a new pair since we had just purchased them. OC is a small company but you expect better service than what we got. I had to pay extra for 2nd day air so she could use them for vacation back in June even though they glasses sat in their department for over 5 weeks. Sorry for rambling - this just kicked up my memory about the situation. Your mileage may vary. ;) |
