This is an obvious copy of someone's design (MAC, I think) but something I wanted to try to make. Can't wait for the test swim in the next few days.

Thanks guys :)

CS,

Those are just 1/4" 3-D stick on eyes I got from Stamina. They're not recessed since they were a last minute decision.

capesams 09-09-2004 11:12 AM

txs..they looked alittle flatter than the normal 3d's.....I'm looking for something in between flat an the higher one's .

John E 09-09-2004 11:56 AM

CS,

The picture makes them look flatter than they are in person.

Nice plug John. Here is the plug that it was modeled after. It was made by Bayshore Tackle I think. It swims awesome.

NorthBar Tackle is who makes them, they are out of NY.

NIB 09-10-2004 08:05 AM

Johnee, take note of the mouth above the lip it's convexed or concaved I always get them mixed up off the line tie like a bottle plug.I think urs is more cupped like a dalecki.which could work fine I don't know.just different.Nice score Newelly er a Mac.U'll allways be Newelly to me.:laughs: lets see the rest of the score.

John E 09-10-2004 08:33 AM

NIB,

I see what you mean. I didn't notice it at first. Almost like a gibb's bottle plug with the top cut off. I used the curved end of my belt sander to cut mine so it's flat along the curve. The photo does make it look cupped through. Hopefully, I'll swim mine this weekend and I'll let you guys know how it swims. I know just the spot too. :D

The yellow one in the second pix does look like a North Bar--they were sold thru the Coastal catalog, and very briefly by the original Van Staal guys when they bought out Coastal. Doc Muller also marketed his version which he called a "Throttle Bottle".

theres also the Dalecki Darters that have a very similar style. those guys are from Strong Island too, i think

John

would ask how your doing but obviously VERY WELL! :eek5:

John E 12-23-2004 09:27 AM

Hi Hank! :wavey:

By the way, the plug swam ok but not as well as I had hoped. I'm thinking it's because the head should of been wider to match the body. Oh well, I'll make some more in the spring since I have just the spot for them. ;)
