Oh My Gawd!!!!!!!!

 On Tuesday, while fishing along Naushon just west of Lackeys by Shark Fin Rock ( appropriately I guess) I saw a large shark cruising the shore line very close. It looked to be near twenty feet to me. I was several hundred feet away. I had also seen seals in Lackeys. I took the shark to be a basking shark, now I just see on the Channel 5 morning news that a 17 foot Great White is, and has been, hanging around the Woods Hole/ Lackeys area for the last 3 days!!!!!!!

I was wondering what the Coast Guard was doing just down from on the way in Tuesday and Wednesday with a Helicopter, a small inflatable and two patrol boats. Now I know they were Great White tracking, That fish is 3 feet longer than my boat. I am going again today ( later this morning). I will have the digital ready! I think I have seen a Great White!

I just hope macho a**hole doesn't go out and try to catch it or harpoon it or something...great whites are protected by Federal and international law.

That they are, i saw that they tagged it also...But you gotta admit, dats a big shark...I also saw he was in really shallow water, so a quick retrieve with the seal on top would be best. Although you may end up with a stubby seal cigar like my eels all last night...The snapper blues were everywhere :af:, but I did manage a 36", and it was a good fight, the current was rippin...

For Whites, I usually use a needlefish. Olive green/white with a slow stead retrieve.

:D

And for the teaser, a PETA freak on a 10/0 through the nose about 6' ahead of flipper.
