I've hunted both Gambel's and Mern's quail out in AZ and loved it! I wish we had some of that kind of hunting around here.

I bird hunt. Its one of my favorite things to do...there is nothing like it. The only problem with bird hunting around here is, the season is so short. The whole thing only lasts about a little over a month. The bond you will make with your dog is like no other, knowing what the other is doing without even thinking about it, and if you train your own dog, the reward is sweet. The adrenalin when you here that bell stop on a dime, and just knowing that there is something there is pretty exciting. I cant wait to go...

I too bird hunt/ dogtrain I am counting the days for my Maine trip, alas 7 days of grouse, woodcock, waterfowling:happy: By the way how was Georgia?? I have hunted Mass,Maine,Novia Scotia, North Dakota, Connecticut, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. North Dakota is by far hands down the best place I have been as far as upland bird hunting goes, I have always wanted to take my Drahthaar down south and hunt wild quail. Were these wild birds you hunted on a plantation?
