Extreme Bluefishing!
 

Went down the backside this morning hoping to fish all night....kinda figured from the forcast that it was gonna be rough down there! Anyway, got there about high tide and man let me tell you.....the wind was howling in my face about 40+ miles an hour and there were 10 foot waves breaking at high! The sand was blowing so hard I had to wear my sunglasses to shield my eyes to see!:cool: So, I figure I am here, why not make a few casts with something heavy.....so I put on my favorite 4 ounce Hopkins with a bucktail (I usually reserve that one for rude boat fisherman) and I fished for about an hour. It was tough, when the wind gusted heavy the Hopkins almost stopped dead in mid-air and dropped after only casting about 20 yards....I usually get that out about 125 yards on a good day! Managed to pull 3 blues out of the soup.......couple out-of-state chunkers there giving it their all but nothing doing....fish were only hitting moving targets! Water was pretty roiled up. Didn't bother the friggin' seals though!:smash: I decided to come home and fish local tonight instead of fishing in that mess!;) Mung was not bad though.....tide was going out.

Hey....1 hour fishing, 3 bluefish and 4 hours of driving beat the hell out of staying home watching the tube!:happy:

good for you BF ! I was out in the slop as well but got a little spooked when I could not hear anything because the it was raining so hard.
