If you guys can't beat the Yanks this year, you never will. Starting pitchers are unreliable at best, and now Rivera is at a family funeral in Panama. Sox have never looked so good going into a series. Except last year. And '86 vs the Mets. Other than that, I've never seen such a strong Sox team lose a pennant. Except '78. You guys can't lose this time. Sox in five.:buds:

jugstah 10-12-2004 07:36 AM

Sox in six games, Schilling wins tonight , even on a bum ankle.

even the fat guy can't help the yanks this year:D

jugstah 10-12-2004 09:14 AM

The Sox are gonna "drill the babe in the buns with a fastball"

28inches 10-12-2004 10:07 AM

Jug- it certainly is about time for something like that to happen. It would be nice to see you guys get your once-a-century championship out of the way early. Then, if you win a few more series, this will actually become a true rivalry in which both teams win a fairly even number of times (post-season, of course). The way it stands now is a little too one-sided for my taste.

btw: did you notice how good the Twins were looking till they started talking in the papers about the Yankee ghosts being a bunch of BS? Coincidence, I'm sure.:faga:

reelecstasy 10-12-2004 10:58 AM

Sox in 5....     sox-yanks..sox have taken 11of19...I believe, then again I always have...Just 4 rows back on the first base line in '86, they kill me every year. But like my girl, I have always stayed faithful and always come back for more.......:D

28inches 10-12-2004 11:03 AM

11 of 19 regular season games?

RIROCKHOUND 10-12-2004 01:33 PM

Sox in 6...
If it goes 7, pray that CS will be ready to pitch, young cornrow's is good, but not WS game 7 good.....

Right now it looks like
1. Shill
2. P-Dro
3. Cornrow (Arroyo)
4. Wakefield..
5. Shill
6. P-Dro
7?? I hope not cornrow......

You guys can't lose with a rotation like that combined with the middle of the batting order. Which NL team do you want to see in the Series?

jugstah 10-12-2004 03:05 PM

I think I'd rather face the Astro's than the STL but.... I hate facing an old nemesis in Clemens but STL is vastly the better team record-overall so its a tossup.

First things first, knock out the Yankees.

spence 10-12-2004 03:06 PM

Shill can go on three days easy, he'll be ready if necessary...

Jug- if the Sox sweep, do you think the long layoff will hurt vs. the NL champ? Or will it help Schill's ankle?

BigFish 10-12-2004 03:33 PM

If the Sox sweep????:laughs: :bl: :bl2: :hihi: :laugha: :jester: Oh...man...LOL....someone pick me up off the floor!:laughs: Thats a good one 28!;)

Nowhere did I say we were gonna sweep the Yankees. I don't think we'll be able to sweep the Yankees, but if we do, I'll be delirious, that's for sure.

All we need to do is to knock the Yankees out, and believe me, it's going to take more than Schilling to do so. We're gonna need splendid starts from Pedro, and Arroyo. Wakefield is an iffy proposition cuz it seems to me his Knuckler only works in warm weather most of the time.

28inches 10-12-2004 04:22 PM

Jug- I'm just saying...if things go real good for you guys and you happen to sweep, and Houston vs St L goes seven, Schill's ankle will be rested and your rotation can be set up any way Francona wants. And he's done a heck of a job the second half of the season. Schilling vs Clemons is a dream matchup. Good for baseball. How do you feel Manny and Ortiz will do against Clemons, at Fenway?

Hooper 10-12-2004 05:55 PM

Sox in 6 also...

I'm gonna take the bait, this is the year... I hope!
