drilling question?

im sorry if you guys have heard this a million times, but has anyone figured out how to drill plugs without a press.

do You have a lathe?
if so You can buy a chuck that will fit into where Your spur is
it will be either a #1 or 2 morse taper.
You drill the ends and then You can use a hand drill to connect the holes

how do you feed the plug body?

I hold the plug with 1 hand and push it on with the other. I only push it 1/4" or so at a time and let it spin to self center. Probably a little on the dangerous side but it works for me.

I second what bassmaster said. If you have a lathe, check Ebay for a lathe chuck. Your lathe paperwork will tell you what size you need, either MT1 or MT2. About $15.00. Works every time and it's very easy too.
