Anyone ever fish Derby dam?
 

Im just wondering what time of year the bass make a trip up there.
I have family near there and may make a few trips down early in the spring..

never ! its polluted ! there is no water ! the damn dam is no longer there !

Heeeyyy, I grew up in Derby.....I also swam for years in the Housy. Maybe thats why i glow at night?

Keep track of the herring run, it's all tied to the herring. Most years, from the end of april throughout most of May, you have stripers at the dam. I've caught fish on both banks (Derby and Shelton?). Now that there is a herring closure in CT, folks do well with pencil poppers and large soft plastics.

That time of year, it's also fun to scale down the tackle and catch American shad. Fun on trout-sized tackle.

You also need a license to fish there, even for stripers.
