Dave, now you got big wood..That thing will need about 75 trebles, and a HUGE bucktail...:hihi:

Billybob 11-05-2004 04:08 PM

That really sucks.
What's going on out there - I talked to about 3 people today who had trees down and no power.

They're scarin the crap outta me because I have the boat parked next to a tree and she's been having a bad streak lately :(

locust
Makes great fencepost, lasts just a little longer than granite.;) Gnarly stuff, bet it turns like elm:eek: Really stinks to have your yard messed up like that.

UserRemoved1 11-07-2004 07:08 PM

I enjoy looking at the bark, it's a very pretty tree. I wish I had them in my yard, just got done taking down 2 trees here today, a 12" diameter Ash, and a 16" Hemlock.....that's 23 trees now in 3 months :D

Mr. Sandman 11-08-2004 07:59 AM

yep locust...that stuff is like a rock. Your chain saw blade will shoot sparks with that baby.
Salty, you don't want them in your yard, while the bark is interesting, they have a poor branch structure and leaves that are not that attractive. When I lived in VA I had a ton of those...I grew to hate them. Also they are a bear to remove. Try pulling that stump.
