How to fix: MMTASK caused a general ...
help.
anyone know the best way to fix an error that reads : MMTASK CAUSED A GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT IN MODULE MMSYSTEM DLL @. 00004:00000502 This error happens when I've got 3 or more windows open, then blue screen of death causes a restart. Thanks in advance. - Jim |

What OS? Type Sytem? Speed? Mem? Recent software installs? Patches? Latest Spyware? Download and run webroot.com spysweeper and lavasoft.de Ad-Aware - be sure to get the latest definitions when prompted Current Ant-Virus? Definitions in last 4 days? |

This will be my monday project, I'm supporting two DR's for work this weekend (more with less at my company :af: ) , so I can't risk losing my pc until then. Thanks again!! What OS? Win98 2nd edition 4.10.222A Type Sytem? HP Pavillion Speed? Pentium III Mem? 128MB Recent software installs? Kids games Patches? none that I know of. (unless the 4.10.22a is one?) Current Ant-Virus? much like the boat insurance I had, none. |

Sounds like you've had some general system corruption, and the best way IMHO is to reinstall. BTW, Windows98 is famous for these kind of errors.
