Beluga plug

About 10 yrs ago,I remember seeing in the "Long Island Fisherman" a plug made by Jack French called the Beluga. It was a swimming plug made with a hinged lip that flapped straight out like a arrow fletch when cast then flopped down like a regular lip on the retrieve, adding distance to the cast. Anyone familiar. I'm new to the hobby and this site. I've learned loads from this board,Thanks to all.

I've made one and it works nicley. Its got a very different weight placement, the weight is shoved in the plug horizontally, makes for a very nice cast. The hinged lip is a pretty neat idea and works surprisongly well. :-}
