biggest surf bass, I estimated 25, low 40" range didnt hit a scale, had a few more right around here and a s-load of 15-22 early in the year end of may june was averaging a 20+ a night from my skiff....... got off eels this summer, should stayed with em, but fell back in love with needles and big wood swimmers...... size dropped, my enjoyment increased....

This was my biggest fish of the year, AJ from Key west...

piemma 11-17-2004 08:42 AM

Ayah, back in the old days we'd get them Ambers in the Channel in Galilee in December right before Christmas. Course you could only get'm livelin' mink

Yeah, Rizzo. That thing is a whopper. Not that anybody cares, but I just checked my log, and I actually got that fish on the 29th.

NIB 11-19-2004 07:51 AM

This yr i had a 38 10 on a bass Assasin an a leadhead i made. On my birthday...I got 3 more over thirty on Pencil poppers I made an another 31 on a livelined bunker. All in NJ.In the canal I had one that went 36 that was 43 inches long.had 2 large lobsters in its belly.had at least one more over 30 on that trip.Thats seven over 30# my best yr.so far.

Rappin Mikey 11-19-2004 08:07 AM

Wow NIB, that is a good year. Did you get all of those from shore?I heard Bass assassins are pretty popular down there. Nobody reely uses them up here though. They basically are all I use in the Spring and landed a good number of fish over 20# on them before June. I could barely find them around here, so I had to get a tackle shop to order me some. Best thing I ever did.
