Router Question
Just a quick question.....can a plunge router be used like a regular router? Lowes has a decent deal on a plunge router with bits for $69. I'm just curious if the base can be locked down and act like a fixed base router?
Thanks! |
For the most part, yes...but remember, you get what you pay for...

Yes, It just isn't as easy to adjust the depth as the fixed base.

Thanks for the help, gang. After some review, I've opted to stay away from this particular router as it realy is a "No Name" brand. I'm now looking into a multiple base Craftsman. Seems like a nice router and comes with 2 bases. And, it's only $20 more!
