Picked up a 15 lb bag of these dowels at a flea market the othe day for a buck. Is maple better for swimmers or floaters? Or kindling... They're 9" long. The skinny part is 1" wide. The fat part is 1 1/4" wide.

perfect for needles once you're done turning them. need to seal that wood though.

I resalized O could turn two samll plugs at the same time...
Bottom row are top water poppers. Need to do the front still.
Top row are small swimmers. I wonder if they will be too heavy given the density of the wood And how that will affect the actoin of the plugs.

Will probably be a little on the heavy side for swimmers if you want them to stay on top. Shapes look nice:btu:
