surf dancing minnows
i should have pictures up soon

I threw some of those about 2 weeks ago and I was surprised how well the smaller one cast. The larger one is a great herring or bunker imitation, the smaller one is a perfect peanut imitation. I was surprised when I first saw them because of the flat bodies. I thought that they wouldn't cast at all but they cast better than a bomber or mambo. The finished on these things are unbelievable the colors are great and the finish is unbelievable. Al says that his new needle fish should be ready by spring.

surf dancing minnows
yes JAY they do throw great, will have a couple wed.morning, and the colors are great. but the action is the best
|
I too have seen Al's new Surf Dancing Minnow, this plug has the best swimming action of any plug I've seen and can be fished a couple of different ways. Slow on the surface like a Danny or quicker and will swimming like a Mambo. Al's painting the first production plugs now, M & 's to get the first order in both sizes in the next couple of weeks.
Pete L. Al will be at the Feb. meeting of the P.V.B & S. club and he will have plugs, I should have one for the Jan. meeting. Chris |

has anybody fished the gags slammer. i bought a couple when al came up to marblehead this year and did a show. they swam crazy in the video he showed. was not impressed at all when i fished them myself.
i do well with the mambo, but not with other gags lures. curious about his new stuff. |
Are they similar to the jumpin minnows that are so prevalent on Martha's? I could'nt find any around here to save my life this fall.
|
NO, THEY ARE MUCH BETTER, SWIM LIKE A DANNY ON THE SURFACE, AND WHEN SWIMMING UNDER SURFACE, THEY HAVE THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE ACTION
|
Their new Squidzee became my favorite bluefish lure this fall. Casts a mile and very durable.
|
Just wait til you see what else is coming...
|
I saw the following description of the squidzee:
"It can be trolled for bass, blues, and even tuna. It may be jigged in shallow water for cod or used as a teaser on a heavier cod jigging setup." I have the pink one and wanted to know if it is effective from shore. From the description it seems like a boat lure.. Eben any comments? :D |

Whats a Squidzee do that a kastmaster wont? I just dont get this plug.
|
there's a guy that i see on the beach all of the time down here (atlantic city area) that throws a squid-zee all of the time. it casts a mile, and seems to collect much less weed than a standard plug with trebles, which has been a bonus where we fish this fall. he's caught lots of blues on it, where no one else has caught anything. whether it's the plug itself, or the fact that he is the only one that can clear the sandbar from the beach, i don't know, but it does catch fish. so much so, that i'll be getting a few for next year.
|
Anyone got a pic?
|
that a kastmaster wont? You can work it like a pencil, cant work a slab like a pencil
|
so throw a pencil or needle

Never seen a bluefish I would consider "selective" in fact you could catch a blue on a bare shiney hook if you could get it out past the bar.
Hey Mike  |
howzit goin' Jeff?
|
I use the cheapest shiny lures I can find for blues, if they are thick I lose them even with 2 foot wire leaders. I bought a dozen chinese tins on ebay for a buck apiece new hooks and they work fine.
