DV conectors ??

I just bought a new digital video camera, But it uses tapes?? So how is it digital??

JVC GR-D22U Any way my question is this,
It has a DV conector on the camera, and a AV conector.

The AV works fine for loading to TV. But I would like to load to my Computer to save on disk. But I do not have a DV conector on my computer.

So how am I going to do this?? Get a new video card? A wire that goes from DV to USB?? Some kind of adapter??

Why don't they just make things simple!! :smash:

My camera came with a DV to firewire connector. i presume that if you brought the camera to a camera shop they would be bale to sell you one of the adapters you need.

Most motherboards now have a usb 2.0 or a firewire built in....Also windows XP has the software built in that will allow you to play and capture the video to your HD just make sure you have a large HD as these videos are LARGE.

macojoe, you'll need a firewire port on your PC if you don't have one you'll need a card like thisthis

Lurch, my computer is 2 years old now and did not come with one.

But after talking to a few others They say what Leptar says i will have to buy the card, and I will be fine!!

$30 and i will be off and running!!

Thanks guys!!
