Picking a spot

Hey guys am going out for the first time deer hunting monday. I have been scouting and doing my home work. I am not using a tree stand so I was just wondering what should I look for in picking a spot? Theres a couple of nice runs and some scraps along a swamp with a mountain behind that. I plan to put myself with my back along the swamp. Or should I do something else? Any advise you have would great.

find a spot so the wind is in your face and the run is in front of you.
make it so your wind stream dose not flow where you expect the deer to be
a hill or high spot you can see a good shooting distance is nice.
good luck
