Getting started
With X-mas coming up and a little more space in the basement for my projects I would like to build some plugs this winter. If some of the master plug builders here would put together a starter kit what would be in that kit? Thanks in advance.

A good set of pilot hole drill bits.My drill press gets alot of work.so does the bench top sander u can make alot of things with these tools.the lathe is the most expensive the rest u can do with Home cheapo 1 hundy models.I sharpen my lathe tools with sand paper u'll need paper to sand from 80- 1200 for the chisels an 100 to 400 for the plugs.1/2 an 3/8 forstner bits for eyesholes.then there's primer an paints.u can start out with cans I still do most of my painting with em.I only break out the airbrush for special occasions.A good pair of round nose jewelrs pliers a vise coupla sets vise grips a good pair of dykes Ilike the shimano ones.the list is endless.Save ur pennies an be a good boy.Hopefully Santa will be good to u.

Guys thanks for the info. Next question. When looking at lathes what should I be looking for? Duplicator?, size requirments. I would like this thing to be on the small size and fit on a work bench. Thanks again for the feedback.

depends on how much you want to spend. You can get a grizzly 9247 bench top lathe for around 150 bux. A delta oe jet will cost around 250-300. Duplicators PSI makes one for around 100 bux. A vega midi with diamond V cutter will cost around 340
