Hey Dad, do you know what size the frame is? Probably something like 16, 18 or 20 inches.

I'm next door in Byfield.

The Dad Fisherman 12-07-2004 04:35 PM

Looks to be a 20 inch frame....I measured from the Pedal portion of the frame to the Seat portion.

Anyone have a pic of one of theses bikes all decked out for the surf? I've got a MB and beginning to think it might not be a bad idea to rig-r-up!

I've mountain biked all my life - last thing you want is to bring it on the beach, sand will get into the greased parts and after there is no way to get it out unless you have it de-greased and re-greased. Thats a great price for the bike though, especially if its a Shimano LX/XT package.

Actually, its only the dry sand you have to worry about, so if you carry it to the surf your all right. I would suggest hanging the rod under the seat extending over the handlebars so you can still steer, and a basic top tube bag that you can pickup at any bike shop for your tackle.

Don't know a lot about bikes....... but it does say "Shimano Equipped" on it.

Maybe is why the waders don't fit anymore???? :hihi:

I think I would have needed to bike 8 hours a day to counteract "The Good Clean Living" I was doing over the winter :hihi:

Besides its the only thing I own that the government can't take a piece of....

I'm in the process of converting a 10-speed Huffy to a CanalCruiser. It was pink but I spray painted it Orange/black trim. So far it has the double rear baskets, an oversize second kick-stand but still needs four rod-holders, etc. I'll post a pix when done.

The problem with using a men's bike as a Canal cruiser is that it's very difficult for even an average sized guy to swing his leg over the back when there are rods in the holders. It's next to impossible for a long-legged galoot like me. I really need a woman's model.
