“Dimebag” Darrel Abbott shot at Damageplan show
 

the former Pantera guitarist, and current Damageplan guitarist. was shot and killed on stage last night. the gunman allegedly target him because he felt he was the reason for Pantera's breakup. he was a great guitarist, and a great guy. he will be missed. :(

I met him about 10 years ago in worchester, he was a real nice guy. Good guitarist as well. :(

I saw pantera 4 times live, they were awesome. I cant believe this.

i only had 1 chance to see Pantera. it was a sick show! i was supposed to go see Damageplan on thanksgiving eve this year, but went fishing instead. my friends i was going to go with ended up on stage singing "Walk" with the band.

I saw them at the Worchester Pladium with White Zombie. Was one of my favorite shows. It was right after Vulgar Display came out....was a real good show.

i have been a pantera fanatic since cowboys came out in the early 90's. dimebag was one of the best metal guitarists of all time, and one of my biggest musical influences. today was a sad day. :( its awful to think that it is taking a risk every time you go to a show. i cant believe that there are people like this in the world. :af:

Yea that was pretty messed up....I would imagine there are alot of scetchy people at those kinda shows. Any word on a motive or if they got the dude at all?

they guy did it because he was mad at Darryl for breaking up Pantera.....he was shot to death by a policeman

Skip - the psycho that shot everyone was shot and killed by a police officer walking by the club that heard the gun shots. i would have rather seen this guy go to jail and get his by the Pantera fans in jail.

I think id rather have been nicknamed "raider" as opposed to "Dimebag myself. I wonder if he liked to smoke weed?:smash: Regardless, its a sad story.
