No but watched more than one person do it on lake Calaveras in TX when I was stationed there.

I grew up in NE Kentucky. One of my classmates in High School came in one day with his arm skinned up. Well I asked and he told me about "grappling catfish" Said he'd reached under a log in the river and stuck his arm right down a HUGE catfish's mouth. It nearly drowned him. As a kid I saw a catfish hanging from the neighbor's swingset. It's head was against the top bar and the tail was touching the ground. It had an air bladder the size of a soccer ball.

I can't remember what show it was, but I saw a show on this before.
These nuts are walking around in the water and then they reach down and grab these huge Cat fish!!
Then they gave a lesson on how to hang them up bleed them and skin them whole.

I would never do that!! I am scared of what I can't see! :eek5: :err:

All they need to do is grab onto one of those Alligator Snappers and its bye-bye hand.

No thanx....I'll stick to rod and reel w/ a chunk of liver to catch my catfish
