A friend of mine does alot of epoxy work and said never mix epoxy with wood spatula as it holds and will release moisture in the mix.
Use plastic or metal. Never read or heard that before.:( |
Thanks! Always good to know little things like that.

I do use those "popsicle" sticks you buy by the 1000 at Michaels....no problem with them.;)

Thanks Dave for the tip.. I use the pop sticks too.. I'll try throwing them in the dryer a while before using them .. wife won't mind .. :)

Ya,good idea Tagster,as long as the splintres don't end up in your back pockets. Yowsa :bshake: :crying: :laughs:

I've been using the plastic knives. that we never seem to use in those plastic utensil sets,, has buckets full of them... they work fine... I'm a cheap bastage never throw anything out
PS, one hit with a file takes the serated edge of them, if you want to spread like buttah ;) |
Remember that acid brush you used for the last batch of epoxy, cut the handle off it and use that as a stir stick for the next batch ;)

i use the handles from previously used Flexcoat brushes for stirring my rod epoxy.
As far as the popsicle sticks go once you use them they are pretty much sealed after the epoxy dries as long as you dont wipe it off! |
