breakaway snaps

anyone know where I can get these in bulk?...Like 100 - 1000 or so at a time?

spence 01-04-2005 11:44 AM

I think they only come in the packs of 10. Perhaps if you ask a local retailer they might consider a volume discount...

Im looking also

tlapinski 01-04-2005 11:51 AM

i would be intersted in a bulk source on those too. i found packs of 100, but they were in England and with shipping the price was no better than buying them locally.

mikecc 01-04-2005 11:51 AM

I have a call into Breakaway to see if they will sell in bulk.
I got plenty of the 10 pks.

Krispy 01-04-2005 11:56 AM

this site has all different kinds of clips. Interesting to see
clips

Mr. Sandman 01-04-2005 12:12 PM

Krispy..very interesting site... but I saw this:
Gemini Genie Snood Clip x 10
Smaller version of the rig link designed for clipping snoods on and off

What the hell is a snoods?

Pete F. 01-04-2005 12:22 PM

I don't mean to hijack this thread, well maybe a little.
What size do you use?

Diamond Tackle 01-04-2005 12:26 PM

interesting
Im going to look into this . One of my buds lives in london, ill have him make some inquiries.

I think a Snood is a "bird" youre trying to "chat up" at the pub and she just wont "pull" because she doesnt "fancy" you . ;)

This is the best invention since sliced bread...Gemini Swivel and Link x 5

Thinkin about placeing an order with Veals,, the site Krisp put up....has anyone ordered from them? Is ther a better source?

tobias 01-28-2005 08:51 AM

If you're looking for Gemini clips, you can get them from Ron Sutton. My last order was for 100 link clips. I think you can buy in larger quantities.

Notaro 01-28-2005 12:10 PM

what do you use a snood for?

Mr. Sandman 02-10-2005 08:27 AM

Tobias,

I went to order $30 worth of gemni clips from that site and I noticed the shipping charge was $27 bucks.
Did you have to pay that much to ship clips from Georgia?

I did see a small notice that small items like clips would be a shipping charge of 3 bucks but it show up on the checkout page as $27.

tobias 02-10-2005 09:53 AM

Make sure you talk to Ron Sutton. He'll straighten out the problem. There's a glitch with ordering on the website. I think I was charged only a couple of bucks for shipping. If you have any problems, PM me and I'll see what I can do. I've dealt with him several times and have been pleased with the service every time. Good Luck!

fishweewee 02-10-2005 10:10 AM

gemini link clips ROCK (thanks Tobias) if you're fishing with larger plugs. EZ on and EZ off, with no latches to open or close, easy to change plugs in the dark.

Right now, Ron Sutton is the only guy I know who stocks them (he has a lot of other nice stuff on his website too). The store is a part-time undertaking for Ron, and as I understand it he fell seriously ill not too long ago and had to close down shop temporarily.

Would be nice to get an S-B sponsor closer to home to order a few thousand of the link clips and the snood clips. I'm definitely in if it can be done.

Mr. Sandman 02-10-2005 10:15 AM

Thanks, I found his email and send him a request.

Krispy 02-10-2005 10:44 AM

Why the preference to Gemini clips over the Breakaways? I like the large Breakaways, aside from the name

fishweewee 02-10-2005 10:55 AM

haven't given the breakaways a shot, to be quite honest. maybe i should take a closer look at 'em.

tobias 02-10-2005 12:13 PM

Haven't tried the Breakaways yet but will this year. As for the Gemini Link Clips, I've never had a problem with them and you can use them blind-folded. Faster and easier to change lures than any other snap I've ever used.

JoeP 02-10-2005 12:14 PM

Has anyone had trouble with the smaller Breakaway's (35 or 50 pound) breaking or opening up on fish? I use the 80 LB one and would like to downsize if possible but don't want any problems.

mikecc 02-10-2005 12:18 PM

Joe
I have been selling them for 2 years now and no complaints.
This year they out sold all our other types of snaps.

Krispy 02-10-2005 12:22 PM

JoeP, if the small breakaways are 35lb, than the standard Duolock 56 that eveyone uses gotta be like 15lb snaps. The Breakaways are heavy duty but I still use the 80lb. The 80's are also easier to use at night and some certain plugs are easier to get on the loop

mikecc 02-10-2005 12:29 PM

small are called spin links and are 50 lb

JoeP 02-10-2005 07:07 PM

Thanks
