Surely Bassey 01-04-2005 09:02 PM

i'm on verizon DSL and the speed is good. You can check your speed at this link
http://infospeed.verizon.net/index.asp

I usually download at 1500 Kbits/sec on DSL
how much faster is cable???

Notaro 01-04-2005 09:11 PM

It's good enough to me.

macojoe 01-05-2005 11:06 AM

2723.6Kbits 340.4KBytes Fast for me, then it is all the time!~! I have BroadBand.

reelecstasy 01-05-2005 03:23 PM

fast...very fast...:scatter: working for Verizon has its benifits...

Saltheart 01-05-2005 03:42 PM

Fast

BTW , when cable first started in RI it was Cox @ Home and it was fast as greased lightnight. Big performance hit when @Home whent belly up and cox put in their own servers , etc. The cable broadband technology is awesome if done optimally.

Right now , with dial up. Pretty quick.

Surely Bassey 01-05-2005 06:13 PM

getting high speed is more addictive than heroin. I was also happy with V92 dialup until I used dsl for a week. You never go back...

I have had the exact opposite experience. I have had Cox Cable Modem since almost the begining, I guess it was 1997. Back then my incoming speeds were 1-2mbs, and sometimes late at night I could push 3mbs. Now I consistantly get over three, ususally over 4, and at night push 5.

I guess it is where you live.

I did like @home.com vs. the @cox.net, only for what it sounds like when you say it out loud. Then again, maybe people think I am a porn star like john holmes or something:huh:
