question on fly tying.
 

A friend gave me a new fly hook to try. This thing looks interesting. It's stamped out of steel. Not forged or melted. It's very strong. It also has a clouser eye that snaps into place which is cool because I would never be able to get them to stay on with thread.

Here is the question. When I tied this fly, how do you get the hairs in the front from sticking out?

Anyway, here is the fly I tied. It should work I guess as a teaser. Might be a little on the heavy side.

Actually, it should be the other way around. And, I tied this using my dog's hair lol. Too bad my mom was at work. She has a nice white streak I could have used.

Assuming you meant "how do I keep the hairs in front from sticking out". On a traditional clouser you tie on the hair point forward past the hook eye and fold them back over the lead eyes and tie them down and in. With the snap on eyes that might be tough. Generally when tieing in hair take a few tight wraps to fix the hair, trim the hair close to the wraps with a pair of small pointy sharp scissors, then wrap the thread forward to cover the butt ends of the hair.

Use less hair, and clip the butt ends of the hair on an angle. This way when you wrap over them with your thread you have a nice smooth head.

I've seen Bob Clouser tie flies, and he will also wrap over the bottom hank of hair, half way down the shank. This is with bucktail, and prevents the hair from wrapping, and gives a slimmer profile.

Use a thin point and sharp siccor to cut the hairs.

As to the hook and weight, it's not at all hard to attach the clouser weights to the hook. Just use a figure-8 wrap. I'd be leary of a hook with a snap-on attachment for the weight.
