boat insurance
what do you have how much is it and do you like it?
I was shopping around and checked Boat US..they were about 33% higher then what I am currently paying and the coverage was not any better. (my rate might be lower because it I have other insurance the my agent...I don't know) I'm a boat US member and have the unlimited towing thru them (even though I have a $500 towing endorsement in my package) I thought I would have gotten a better deal. The reason I was thinking of changing is the from a phone I made call to the company (not the agent) last year...the guy was a jerk. |
i have boat us. $800 bucks a year
make sure you have spill liability if you go somewhear else. salvage ins. etc.. i had my old boat as a rider on my homeowners ins. but it didn't cover squat. if the thing sinks someones gotta pay for the cleanup. sportsman' knows ins. maybe he will jump in here. i'd get unlimited towing too $500 bucks will get eaten up really quick if your a couple miles out. mike |
450 Travelers, have had no trouble, they paid a claim for damaged lower unit no questions asked.

Prudential $400. I've not found a better deal yet, Boat US was way higher.
I have sea tow for unlimited emergency towing 95$ |
Hi Jim.
Travelers for me, $470. premium. (Boat motor trailer- 28K value- $500 deductible, 500k Watercraft liability) No claims, so can't tell about service. |
I went from a 1983 Grady White (worth about 15-16 K )
to my brand new 2003 Parker (worth close to 60 k) Same ins co, ins cost for new Parker went down about $100.00 Figure that one out!!! Ins co told me , it's cheaper to insure a new boat than and older one!!! My guess, an older boat can cause more liability!!! leaking gas tanks, sinking, ect... |
