Did anyone see this plug at the worcester show. It looked pretty cool in the water. IT was actually the only decent looking plug i saw at the whole place. Way too many hooks on it right now. Its plastic, thru wired, and sinks a foot a secong, but doesnt dive when retreived, keeps level in the water. What kinda hooks and how many would you guys put on it?

Its called a Ratke Pike Minnow. Moslty used for muskies but has caught some nice bass as well.

Thanks Flaptail. I have dial up, it would took me a week to find that plug.

Ratke has been doing these shows for as long as I remember.

It won't cast very well, but in places like inlets/breachways, or beaches with a sharp drop-off near shore, it'll get results. I don't think I'd have much use for it along the south beaches of LI--they're shelving beaches for the most part, and most times I'm faced with a SW wind.

How'd you like to get all 4 sets of hooks out of a muskie, BTW? :D:eek:

How about his little infomercial. His description was hilarious, it was the same monotone voice every minute. Then he gets his wife to describe the colors. She would go like this  .

I thought she told me it was wood. It is not through wired but has 2 or 3 x VMC. It did have good action and the muskies he caught with it are amazing.

It is a good plug but does not hold up. I caught a decent bass on it last year at Carpenters. About 20 + lbs. By the time I landed the bass and took the plug off I noticed that it had split on the seam and that the screws holding the middle hook on were coming out. It is NOT thru wired.

Makes you wonder how he caught those huge Muskies, with those monster teeth.

Yeah, but it looks damned good swimming in that galvanized wash-tub he has at the booth :hihi:

I bought one of those some years back...and it casts like a bag of feathers...
