What did you build 9or are building) this winter?
I did a 7'6" - conv. for bucktailing striped bass that will see an Avet SX.
The componets I'm awaiting arival for are for a kick butt smallmouth spin rod. |
1209 Breakaway for jigging the canal.
allstar 1087 and 1089 both spinning, just stripped guides off of a saber 1088 conv and will build on an allstar 1209 next. also gonna try my first freshwater rod before spring.
Rainshadow 1207 conventional, next will be a spinner for jigging in the canal...not sure about the blank yet.
Doing a 2 kids rods, 4 boat rods and 2-3 surf. Only one of those are for me...like I need more rods :smash:
Just finished a batson 1088 spinner for a CT Surfcasters raffle, did a fluke rod (forget the blank) a few weeks ago, in the middle of a Zziplex Sea Raider II, GSB 1321L, and 1362M, have a 1081L on the rack, cut and modified an all star 1208, and I have to re-wrap a bunch of warriors. Stupid short winter...
I decided to do backups for all my important rods. Last season a broken rod put a crimp in my fishing and I won't go through that again. I built an 8 1/2', 9' both spinning, 10' spinner & 10' conventional. Now if anything happens I'm covered. Oh and they were all built on blanks from C&G tackle which I like very much. plus I did a couple of do-overs for buddies one of which turned into a nightmare of a twisted/warped blank.
I built a GLB961L, working on a GSB1321L right now. I have a GSB1081L that Lami just sent back to me after I broke it this fall  and GSB1201M to build...You can never have too many toys
