Hey Jigman

Jigster, question on your Merry Plugmas thru drilling. I do my thru drilling with round stock on my old 3 jaw chuck lathe. However, it won't hold the square stock and i would need a 4 jaw chuck to hold it.Big $$$$:( When you use the drill chuck on your grizzley it looks like the only thing holding the stock is the pressure on the tail stock as it turns. Do you need to put a deep x groove in the wood so it will hold and spin while you drill:huh: and once you cut the square off the face what holds the plug as you drill the tail hole:huh: Thanks:)

I'm not jigman,,,but I'd put the drill chuck in your 3 jaw chuck and put the tail end of your plug into the tail stock of the lathe and push your non-spinning plug onto the spinning drill bit. then flip it over to drill the other end.
