I just made up a hunded or so of these with my son to fish MG during the spring for bass during the annual squid event that shows up there.

I made a couple last season and did great casting into the rips and working off the bottom on light spinning right around dusk

whatcha think?

Bronko 02-23-2005 11:59 AM

Sandman, those look great. You should market them!

reelecstasy 02-23-2005 11:59 AM

I likey, did you buy the bodies, or do you have a friend with the mold?

But I definetly likey...:kewl:

Mr. Sandman 02-23-2005 12:07 PM

I got in touch with the original maker of the B2 squid and he made a couple hundred for me without the standard eyes and I glued on these 3d eyes. The jigs are do-it mold bullet jigs. I have 1, 1.5, 2 made up but i also have a mold for some up to about 4 oz.

Cute !!! At first i thought they were fluke baits.

Mr. Sandman 02-23-2005 12:14 PM

they should work for fluke too, but I use them a little differently.

Those look perfect for Middle Ground although I'd also like to try them down the Canal. I see you had them special made, wonder if anyone sells those bodies commercially? I'd love to get my hands on a few of those.....

Goose 02-23-2005 12:38 PM

:btu:There you go again Mr. S....taking it to another level, and you say size isn't everything:D.....would you add a stinger hook on those?

JohnR 02-23-2005 12:53 PM

OK - I just trademarked them :laughs:

They look sweet...

Slipknot 02-23-2005 02:00 PM

Flaptail 02-23-2005 02:43 PM

The bass will chow those and the blues will rip them apart. Bet you can't wait for the last two weeks of May and the first two of June! I love it out there when the squid get chased out of the rip and get picked off in the air by the seagulls. That place is the nutz! I have a couple old wine colored Reverse Atoms that just kill 'em there.:D

Why don't you mail me the collection of them and I will fish them and give you the results, it will save you the time, fuel, and hours on your boat I will be sure to write a full report and you can determine if you want to make some for yourself for the following season:laughs: :laughs:

Flaptail 02-23-2005 07:43 PM

Vector, nice attempt at the old "full frontal Ho" but your technique needs a little work. Next time be more forcefull, make him feel he has to send them to you. Try it again please and this time remember to be more forcefull.:D

Mr. Sandman 02-24-2005 08:01 AM

You guys are too funny. This is not a fancy plug...just a jig. I hope to produce a few extra before spring. I will be generous.:)

fishdog13 02-24-2005 03:05 PM

not a fancy plug...just a jig:happy:
