tattoobob 02-27-2005 10:43 PM

Sandbartender 02-28-2005 09:29 AM

saw those dancers at the sportsmans show in Hartford a couple weeks ago. They looked sweet! I meant to return to the booth to buy a couple but spaced it out.

tattoobob 02-28-2005 10:02 AM

Clogston29 02-28-2005 01:31 PM

Is any one else annoyed that they bought some of these when they came out and now, only 2 months later, there is a new and improved version?

BigFish 02-28-2005 01:36 PM

similar thing happened with the slammer, supposedly improved them after they started selling them. It's part of the lure biz I guess:(

tattoobob 02-28-2005 04:55 PM

When I saw him speak he told us that he did a run of 400 and I guess if you saved them in a couple of years they would be worth money to a collector. I also got some but I plan on using them.

I saw these plugs swim - really nice action (to catch fish) to go along with the looks (to catch people !! )

That design (the arched hump back w/flat sides) seems relatively rare in salt lures, but it's pretty common in wood and plastic freshie crankbaits. Anyone find this type of design in salt lures I don't know about? I can't recall any before seeing this one, but I haven't been on the scene that long and many of you have seen more lures, no doubt.

I bought one too, but wonder if that flimsy plastic lip will last more than one trip.

mikecc 03-01-2005 10:05 AM

The lip is pretty strong the only way we could break it was a pair of plires. believe me we tried everything

not as dramatic of an arch but the yo-zuri mag minnows are kinda similar. they smoke the bass

riverrat2 03-01-2005 06:14 PM

Has anyone test swam these yet? They look killer, something different. I am definetly a little skeptical about that plastic lip for some of the places I fish.

reelecstasy 03-01-2005 06:22 PM

I was thinking, providing the plastic lip is strong, from the sounds of it, it is. I think it would be optimal, metal lips can bend and need to be retuned. While the plastic retains its preformed angle, but wtf do I know..

riverrat2 03-01-2005 06:33 PM

I agree but metal is a lot less britte than the hard plastic they use on those lips. In the long run a metal lip will probably last you longer but you might have to make a few quick fixes to it. Most plastic lips simply break off or in half and there is no adjusting that. Although I cannot speak for this lure because I have not seen it in person.

reelecstasy 03-01-2005 06:34 PM

I can't say either, I haven't held one..and come to think of it, I never throw a plastic lip either:laughs:

riverrat2 03-01-2005 06:41 PM

Yeah other then bombers and mambos I usually don't either. The lips on bombers and mambos are bomb proof from my experience but those are different then the lips on this plug.

tattoobob 03-01-2005 08:17 PM

when I saw him speak someone asked about the lip, he said it was made of
Lexan (spelling?) and is supposed to be bullet proof. the plastic on bombers and mambos chip from hitting rocks
