Great board guys these plugs you build are also great would anyone make a suggestion on a lathe and or other tools to get started with

Lathes are probably the best tool to work w/ for making plugs. There is a wide range for any budget. Pick your chisels carefully, they can be expensive . Drill presses and sanding machines are good to have also, but not critical. As you go on you'll figure out what you need.

I started with a basic set of Buck Brothers tools and they still do the majority of my work. As my skill progressed I added a few more specialized tools, but still use my basic set for the majority of my work. You will need a couple of gouges, a 1" and 1/2" skew and a parting tool to get started turning.

Thanks guys you have been a big help I also picked up some pointers off the message board, I'm going to try plug making it help the cabin fever thing this winter
