drill bit source

Where is everyone getting their drill bits to bore the thru hole plug for the wire? My bit is dead and cant find one long enough in Homies or Sears. Drilling rock maple eats the hell out of the bits. Thanks, Matt

Go to McMaster-Carr and get an 8" parabolic drill. The 1/8 " goes for around $12

If you buy from Fuller, call ahead and ask for a brad point bit with the spurs ground off, they wander less.

I haven't done it, but they sharpen as well.
