Spring.....
 

...is less than 2 weeks away, and we still have ponds with over 6 inches of ice.
Once again, if it weren't for ice fishing and plug building, I'd surely have gone insane by now. (I have friends and relatives that think it's already too late for me anyway.)

When the ice does finally break, I plan on trying for some spring holdovers, just to tide me over until the big ones arrive.

The lower than average temps expected for March aren't going to help.I REALLY hope this doesn't mean a late start to the season.:( I'm already insane to begin with.

Sanity
 

is nothing but an illusion....whether your a fisherman who can't wait for fishing season to start....or a non fisherman.

people become adept at pulling it off......the ruse.

appearing to be quite normal and sane to the average person nearby or to an aquaintence, or even a family member.

the basic rule of thumb is: Everyone's a little crazy !

if you think i'm wrong that's because you have accepted
the idea that everyone is fairly sane and are in total denial.

i do believe that fishermen are more sane than the average group of sportsman however, that seek the solitude of the water and its calming attributes..... its just that this time of year we are all officially certifiably Looney tunes !

2-5 inches of snow tomorrow. Then freezing temps the rest of the week. More snow over the weekend. We have 12-15 inches of ice in Central Ma.:rolleyes:
