Split ring question

i'm about to order some, but I forget what the best size to get is...

4-H ? these would be used on dannies with 3/0 hooks....

Jetty Hopper 03-08-2005 09:42 PM

The 5 1/2H will do fine. Size 2/0 hook and up usually gets a 5 1/2H for me.

thanks jetty hopper-

how about everyone else??

Mike P 03-08-2005 10:08 PM

I agree. The 4H is more for stuff like Bombers, Redfins and MegaBaits.

A 5-1/2 or 6 works well on a Danny or A-40.

I ordered both :D

Rosco split rings, stainless steel.

Size 4 - 30 lb. test
Size 4H - 80 lb. test
Size 5 - 40 lb. test
Size 5 1/2H - 100 lb. test
Size 6 - 80 lb. test
Size 6H - 100 lb. test

I hope this helps.

I'm using the rosco 5 1/2H. I haven't had any problems with them.

I match up the size of the ring based on the size hook I'm using. The ring diameter should be about the same diameter as the attachment ring (or whatever its called  ) on the hook. 4H for 1/0 hooks, 5H for 2/0 and 3/0 and 6H for 4/0 or larger.
